It is an important step taken by the government to reform the ways of training software talents to build this demonstrative software school as a pilot. It aims to strengthen software talent training, accelerate the reform and innovation of teaching materials, curriculum, teaching method, management system and operating mechanism, so as to meet the urgent demands for high-quality talents for the country's software industry as early as possible.

The School of Software and Microelectronics aims to develop advanced, practical, multidisciplinary and globalized professionals, and shall improve educational objectives and curricula according to the demand of the industry. It shall develop adaptive syllabi and active education plans cover humanities and advanced technologies, and strengthen the quality of education while emphasizing the cultivation of student creativities, innovation, and engineering capability. The school shall cooperate with domestic and international experts to utilize the best of educational resources, and shall learn from the experience of experts; and cooperate with domestic and international enterprises, to realize the reciprocity between industry development and cultivation of professionals.

Under the leadership of Peking University and the school council, School of Software and Microelectronics shall overcome any difficulty, and be bold to bring forth innovation, conduct every work aggressively and continuously, and make every effort to strive for the making of a world-class school.
